Independent consultant for the tourism industry. Over 30 years' experience in Destination Marketing for the Maltese Islands, 8 years of which as Director of International Marketing from 2006 to 2014 during which time I spearheaded a revolution in the way the islands were marketed and promoted, leading to a yet uninterrupted period of sustained growth. During this time I worked in Frankfurt for a total of 21 years and was active all over Europe. Moved into Aviation in August 2014 and after a period as Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, took over the CEO position in an acting capacity at the islands' flag carrier Air Malta in 2016 and left in September 2018. During my tenure as CEO the airline made a remarkable turnaround and in the financial year ending March 2018 the airline registered its first operational profit in nearly twenty years. As from October 2018 I branched into private consultancy in International Tourism and Aviation taking advantage of my vast global experience gained over the years in these two industries. Today I do consultancy for airlines, destination management companies, conventions and events, cruise line handling companies and hotels.
