The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (SOM) formed the Office for Online Education (OOE) to develop capacity and infrastructure to deliver new online programs. The OOE is currently staffed with a Senior Director of Online Education, an Instructional Design Manager, two Senior Instructional Designers, an Instructional Designer, two Instructional Instructional Technologists, a Business Program Manager, and an Administrative Coordinator.
As part of the development of the department, OOE launched a public-facing, non-credit LMS which allows learners outside of JHU to browse a catalog of online courses, purchase them using a credit card, get instant course access, and receive a certificate of completion or CME certificate.
In addition to the public-facing offerings, the Office of Online Education also offers certificate programs and supports medical and graduate biomedical education at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
