Office of Online Education - Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (SOM) formed the Office for Online Education (OOE) to develop capacity and infrastructure to deliver new online programs. The OOE is currently staffed with a Senior Director of Online Education, an Instructional Design Manager, two Senior Instructional Designers, an Instructional Designer, two Instructional Instructional Technologists, a Business Program Manager, and an Administrative Coordinator. As part of the development of the department, OOE launched a public-facing, non-credit LMS which allows learners outside of JHU to browse a catalog of online courses, purchase them using a credit card, get instant course access, and receive a certificate of completion or CME certificate. In addition to the public-facing offerings, the Office of Online Education also offers certificate programs and supports medical and graduate biomedical education at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
