Vulcan Green Steel is a leading industrial powerhouse and is part of the Jindal Steel Group with 50 years of steelmaking expertise. The Jindal Steel Group operates with a steel capacity of 13.5 MTPA, and with exports in more than 30 countries worldwide. The Jindal Steel Group is one of the largest private steelmakers in the Gulf Cooperation Council and already operates in Oman with a capacity of 2.4 MTPA DRI-EAF. Today, we already have one of the lowest carbon-footprints for virgin steel, and we keep sustainability at the center of our mindset and top of our agenda – today as well as tomorrow. Vulcan Green Steel is our marquee initiative for the production of true GREEN STEEL – produced with hydrogen and renewable energy – and so, we take a huge step forward in combating climate change. With Vulcan Green Steel, we are setting up one of the largest green steel plants worldwide in Duqm, in the Al Wusta region of the Sultanate of Oman, which boasts one of the best solar and wind profiles in the world.
