Joe Sutherland has attracted clients such as Canva, Cisco, Coca-Cola, GlaxoSmithKline, The Conference Board, Fulcrum Equity Partners, and dozens of other leading organizations. Before starting J.L. Sutherland & Associates Inc., Joe worked with private investors to build profitable companies that were acquired, like the fintech startup Prattle (acquired by Liquidnet) and the artificial intelligence startup Peachtree AI (acquired by Search Discovery). He has served in executive roles at Emory, Cisco, and Amazon. From 2011-2013, he worked in a variety of operational leadership and technology roles at The White House. Sutherland founded Emory University’s Center for AI Learning. He is the principal investigator of the university’s branch of the U.S. AI Safety Institute, established by President Biden. His book, Analytics the Right Way: A Business Leader’s Guide to Putting Data to Productive Use (Wiley) is a transformation playbook for organizations pursuing data, analytics, and AI.
