Only 20-30% of adult population has a bank account in emerging economies such as Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia. Access to formal credit such as personal loans, credit cards or mortgages is even more restricted, ranging in the low single digits. At the same time the young population has rapidly gone online and mobile. This creates a huge opportunity to address their financial needs through technology. We incubate and build finance businesses to focus on selected, underserved segments in each market. We invest in deeply understanding our target segments and tailor our business models to fit their needs and behaviour. We use technology and advanced analytics to replace tedious requirements and paperwork, thereby lowering barriers to financial inclusion.
