John Lawrie is one of the foremost scrap metal re-processors, decommissioning specialists and steel trading companies in the UK. Eighty years of experience has enabled the company to achieve the highest standards in customer care, health and safety, recycling and reuse, and sustainable environmental services. The three main divisions which provide key services to the oil and gas, construction and utility sectors are: METALS: the largest metal recycler and exporter of processed scrap metal in North and North-East Scotland, with SEPA-licensed waste treatment facilities in Aberdeen, Montrose and Invergordon and handles around 200,000 tonnes of metal each year. TUBULARS: a leading specialist in the trading of new and reusable tubulars, casing and drillpipe with activities throughout the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, North America, China and the Middle East. DECOM: providing decommissioning services to the oil and gas sector for over 20 years, during which time we have successfully carried out a number of projects involving the processing of redundant equipment and the dismantling of large oilfield and industrial structures. Despite the growth of the company, John Lawrie Group remains committed to providing the very best service and solution to its clients. As the only reprocessor and exporter of scrap metal in the North and North-east of Scotland, the company has established processing facilities in Aberdeen, Montrose and Evanton where they sort, shear and fragmentize scrap metal ready for recycling into new steel products. All of the company’s metal recycling facilities are fully licensed and are regulated by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. This ensures all activities comply fully with strict operating procedures, particularly in the areas of health and safety and environmental protection.
