It's made headlines. Childcare centers are extraordinarily understaffed, post pandemic. The workforce that once supported this industry has been presented with more optimal ways to work. The gig economy offers increased wages and flexibility which has made it incredibly difficult for childcare centers to find and retain staff. We saw this, we heard this, we wanted to do something about this - in stepped Tandem. We created a platform that bridges the gap between the way workers want to work and the immediate staffing needs of childcare centers. Through Tandem, centers can find job-ready workers, as soon as they need coverage. By providing fully-credentialed workers, centers can increase enrollment, open new classrooms, and regain their sanity. On the flip side, we're giving an opportunity to skilled childcare workers to enter the gig workforce, for the first time ever. They can pick up shifts when they're available, at the pay rate they want to get paid, and then immediately access their earnings as soon as they complete their shift. This is unheard of in an industry where workers are used to being constrained to permanent, full-time positions and bi-weekly pay cycles. We're here to revitalize this space - it's about time.
