After the huge experience of running the Jordan 10 the team have decided to set up the Jordan Ultra as an annual event to allow others to experience the immensity of the Jordanian landscapes while traversing them. In this first annual event we will be taking on 50 runners to run either 8 marathons in 6 days or 4 marathons in 3 days to cross through Jordan’s historic sites, dramatic wadis and sample the southern tip of the country. It is an awe inspiring place and an unrivalled location to participate in an ULTRA. The success of the Jordan 10 was largely a result of the help of the Jordanian Royal Family with special thanks to His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah who supplied us with Doctor Mohammed and his support team. We are pleased to say that we will be supported by the same team and believe that the Jordan Ultra will be an even greater success. It has a rich culture and before or after the run we will be encouraging people to sample it. There is a good feel for the generosity of the people and richness of the countryside in the short Jordan 10 video. It offers an insight into the trials and emotions that run high during an event like this. The Jordan 10 team were blow away by the whole experience. As the line goes, ‘we all cried and one of us came home in a wheelchair’ - well not really a wheelchair, he got a ride in it in the airport as he was stiffening up a bit. It was an adventure of extreme magnitude and we want others to share it with us.
