JSAC

Jaffna Social Action Center (JSAC) is a Sri Lankan non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering and protecting vulnerable communities across the Northern Province, with outreach extending to all 25 districts of the country. Since our founding in 2001, JSAC has focused on supporting those most at risk—particularly former internally displaced persons (IDPs), women-headed households, and children living in poverty. Our core areas of work include child and women protection, gender equality, human rights, legal aid, post-conflict reconciliation, disaster response, and youth empowerment. We implement projects aimed at reducing the long-term effects of trauma and conflict while promoting sustainable development. Our mission is to work in partnership with communities to enable them to take responsibility for their socio-economic needs, to understand and claim their rights, and to ensure the protection of women and children. JSAC’s vision for communities to work together for a positive change creating a future where rights are protected and all are self - sufficient.
