The main activities of Yangiyul JSC "BIOKIMYO" are:
- production of rectified ethyl alcohol from grain;
- production of rectified technical ethyl alcohol;

Yangiyul JSC "BIOKIMYO" (during the start-up period of the Yangiyul hydrolysis plant), in accordance with the plan, was designed according to the profile of the production of ethyl alcohol, special products and feed yeast using local plant raw materials - sawdust, cotton husks, rice husks.
The construction of the plant began in 1949 on the basis of the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 30 dated January 3, 1949. The plant was put into operation in November 1958 with the start-up of a steam power shop, which provides technological steam for the own needs of the enterprise and industrial enterprises of the city of Yangiyul.
In January 1959, after the completion of the commissioning and commissioning work, a hydrolysis and alcohol shop was put into operation for the production of ethyl alcohol from sawdust with a design capacity of 170.0 thousand decalitres of technical alcohol per year.
Due to the lack of vegetable raw materials to replenish and satisfy the need of the Republic of Uzbekistan for technical alcohol, the specialists of the enterprise mastered the technological process of obtaining technical ethyl alcohol rectified by distillation and rectification of the ethyl alcohol head fraction (EAF) of the ether-aldehyde fraction, which is a by-product of the production of alcohol from grain.
