Aims
The Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics is a scholarly journal, provided on a Fair Open Access basis, without cost to both readers and authors. The Journal aims to select publications of the highest scientific calibre in the form of either original research papers or reviews.
Scope
The focus is placed on contributions of fundamental importance in the broad domain of solid mechanics, mechanics of materials and structures. The journal aims to achieve a balance between theoretical, numerical, applied and experimental research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to

- damage and fracture mechanics
- constitutive modelling
- dynamics: impact, wave propagation and vibration

While anchored in mechanics, the journal strives to bridge to a broad range of scientific disciplines beyond Engineering, namely Applied Mathematics and Numerical Methods, Materials Science, Applied Physics and Geophysics. The journal also invites works of an expository nature. These should be clearly marked as such during submission and in the abstract to ensure appropriate review. There is no page limit for expository articles. Other articles should have a length commensurate with the magnitude of their original contribution.
Fair open access
In terms of governance, the journal is committed to the principles of Fair Open Access:
- JTCAM is owned and controlled by the scholarly community as outlined in the Constitution.
- The authors retain copyright of their works, which are published under a standard open access license as outlined in the Editorial Policy.
- All articles are assigned a DOI and are freely available to the public at no cost for the authors.
- The JTCAM overlay journal is housed in the Épisciences platform.
