The EUCC is in charge of mostly international projects in the field of civil protection and disaster management. With this department, the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (JUH) in Germany has actively been involved in the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) since 2006 (e.g. providing response assets and disaster response experts for UCPM missions, conducting training/exercises, providing trainers and lecturers). In projects, the EUCC takes on the role of project coordinator, work package leader and/or end-user, validating new technologies and methods developed in the projects. In addition, the JUH contributes its expertise and competence to the European Civil Protection Mechanism and to the development and provision of response capacities and modules for the European Civil Protection Pool.
