JUST-Able

The JUST-Able project follows the basic principle of community programs development "nothing about us, without us!'. JUST-Able aims to create a database mainly for (people with Disabilities (PwD) and their caregivers). The database follows the statement "Know before you go," it will offer complete information about the accessibility of public places in Jordan and reduce the undesired burden and transportation cost. Specifically, JUST-Able targets females as most PwD in Jordan are females, and they face double discrimination. PwD's in Jordan stated that the city's buildings and outdoor places are inaccessible and restrict their independent mobility. Furthermore, JUST-Able will increase the awareness about the right of PwDs in social participation and integration. Additionally, it will allow PwD to communicate with their peers and receive continuous support. The project will provide comprehensive and precise details regarding accessible locations and identify challenges and difficulties that may face PwD. As part of the JUST-Able planning and implementation process, PwD and volunteers will participate from several disciplines, including architecture, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. JUSTAble project program will include training sessions on accessibility assessment. Volunteers will evaluate and report public places' accessibility across Jordan. Eventually, this project will provide updated accessibility information details depending on user and facilities owners' inputs and observations. Thus, an accessibility checklist and a list of all accessible places will be created as a reference for accessible sites. يتبع مشروع JUSTAble المبدأ الأساسي لتطوير البرامج المجتمعية "لا شيء عنا ، بدوننا!". تهدف JUSTAble إلى إنشاء قاعدة بيانات بشكل أساسي لـ (الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة (PwD) ومقدمي الرعاية لهم). تتبع قاعدة البيانات العبارة "اعرف قبل الانتقال ، سيقدم معلومات كاملة حول إمكانية الوصول إلى الأماكن العامة في الأردن وتقليل العبء غير المرغوب فيه وتكلفة النقل.
