Juwa is a research group focusing on rural transformations in the African Great Lakes Region. The team is made up of professors, post-doctoral and doctoral researchers and masters students from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) working on rural transformations in the African Great Lakes Region. Juwa is based in the Centre d'Etudes du Développement (DVLP) of the Institute for the Analysis of Change in Contemporary and Historical Societies (IACCHOS). It has no formal legal status. It does, however, represent a form of committed teamwork. The team collaborates with several other players - Juwa alumni and others. In particular, Juwa collaborates with the Angaza Institute of ISDR-Bukavu and the University of Mons.
