We invented a bicycle that has auto-balance technology built into it. Think of traction control for cars, but now its available for bicycles! The same technology that keeps helicopters in flight, space ships in orbit and boats stable at sea is built into each Jyrobike. The team at Dartmouth worked on the principle that bikes become inherently stable at higher speeds because the faster a wheel spins, the more balanced it becomes. They worked on the assumption that being able to put a faster spinning wheel (a gyroscope) inside a slower moving wheel (the front of a bile) would have the effect of improving stability & balance.
