Kachin Refugee Learning Centre (KRLC) is dedicated to empowering underprivileged urban refugees and asylum-seeking children and youth by providing them with access to holistic, high-quality education. Through its unwavering commitment, KRLC aims to transform lives and uplift communities, fostering hope, resilience, and opportunity. Since its establishment in 2007, KRLC has grown into a vibrant and nurturing learning environment currently over 700 refugee and asylum-seeking students, primarily from Kachin and other Burmese communities. The centre offers structured pre-school, primary, and secondary education based on the renowned Cambridge syllabuses. In 2017, KRLC expanded its academic offerings by introducing the UK International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) program, opening even more pathways to future success for its students. Despite operating with limited resources and without official support or recognition from the Malaysian government, KRLC continues to thrive as a beacon of hope, ensuring that refugee children in Malaysia have access to education, personal growth, and brighter futures. Through education, KRLC empowers its students to dream big, unlock their potential, and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
