Municipality of Kalamata is part of the EU Mission of “100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030” and act as experimentation and innovation hub to enable all European cities to follow suit by 2050. The motivation to become a climate-neutral city by 2030 thrives from the obligation to provide a city that is healthy and safe for the citizens, that is livable, sustainable and gives opportunities for economic development by leveraging on local characteristics.
