We are molecular pathology laboratory specializing in genetic testing to deliver personalized medicine in timely and accurate manner. Operating in Jakarta, KalGen Laboratory is ISO15189 accredited for both KRAS and EGFR mutation genetic testing. Currently KRAS and EGFR tests are required to match colorectal and lung cancer patients to cetuximab and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (gefitinib and erlotinib), respectively. Since 2009, KalGen has performed more than 1,000 genetic testing from various clinical samples such as formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues and cytological samples.
We have partnered with major pharmaceutical companies such as Merck Serono, Astra Zeneca, Roche, and Innogene Kalbiotech. Because personalized medicine demands genetic testing prior to prescribing anti cancer targeted therapy, KalGen laboratory commits to work closely with physicians in order to deliver the best treatment strategy their patients deserved.
SInce 2010, Kalgen has participated in and passed external proficiency testing for both KRAS and EGFR mutation tests organized by UKNEQAS (United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Scheme), EMQN (European Molecular Genetic Quality Network) and ESP (European Society of Pathology). KalGen has collaborated with and received samples from 90 hospitals in four Southeast Asian countries, and 200 physicians of five subspecialities (pathologists, surgical oncologist, gastroenterologist, pulmonologists, and hematooncologists)
