Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi Model United Nations

Being founded in 2005, Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi Model United Nations Club (KALMUNC) is one of the oldest Model UN clubs in Turkey with over 200 members gathering twice a week to simulate the United Nations committees as a platform to express their opinions accordingly to their given positions. With the practices KALMUNC offers to students, delegates have the opportunity to debate with a higher level of experience in the conferences they participate in. Our members attended conferences not only in Turkey but also in countries such as Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands; so as to represent our school at international level. In as much as KALMUN club’s works and enthusiasm in the conferences, the Club had decided to organize their first-ever MUN conference in 2013, starting a very tradition that takes both the KALMUN Club and our school in a higher prestige. Since the day that the KALMUN Executive Board was formed, the global issues has been worked on, so as to be brought to a solution with students from different prestigious schools all around Turkey; while taking today’s world into consideration which is constantly changing and developing. Main intention of KALMUN is to provide an opportunity for the young population to think about the issues of the world, considering the political, economic and social sides of those; while expressing their opinions freely during the simulated sessions of the United Nations. The Executive Board of KALMUN has taken it as its valid goal to form a youth platform where the participants can share their experiences and knowledge, work together, listen to the opinions of others while making contributions to those, ask questions and individually improve themselves.
