Education should be more than just a routine or a government-reported statistic. In Sierra Leone, nearly all children are enrolled in school, yet many still struggle with basic literacy. The issue isn’t about a lack of willingness or motivation, most children truly want to learn. But when families rely on them, regular school attendance becomes a difficult choice rather than a given.
The Kamara Initiative exists to support these children by improving the quality of education and ensuring that attending school leads to real learning. We work to bridge the literacy gap by providing resources, support, and innovative learning solutions that help students keep up, even when life outside the classroom pulls them away.
Through targeted programs, we collaborate with local communities to enhance literacy, equip schools with essential materials, and support both students and teachers in making education more effective and accessible.
