In May 1988, the Kansas Medical Society (KMS) House of Delegates authorized the formation of a mutual professional liability insurance company for Kansas physicians. As a result, in June of 1989, Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company (KAMMCO) began operations for the purpose of:

-- Assuring a sustainable source of professional liability insurance.
