Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore)

Kodály Academy of Music (KAM) started out as a passion project and a vehicle to administrate the Asia Kodály Symposium in 2014. Inspired by studies at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungary) and wanting to spread the word on the Kodály Concept, KAM was formed with the blessings and support of Prof. László NEMES, then director of the Kodály Institute. Founder Albert TAY has been working as a pro bono director for KAM and Schola Cantorum Singapore Ltd. (SCS) for the last 10 years, spearheading KAM’s works in supporting musicians and artists in securing stable, regular income, gigs and (paid) exposure. The KAM team is made up of a diverse group of passionate, dynamic and well-trained artist-educators, arts administrators and volunteers from different countries who share a commitment to art-making and providing top music education to the international and local communities.
