The name of the restaurant comes from the tranditional creole art of weaving coconut leaves into shopping baskets and hats. Kapatya was one of the most useful tools in
Seychelles - our mothers and grandmothers would always be on the move with a kapatya basket, be it for shopping or to carry their goodies to the beach for a picnic with the family. We at Kapatya Restaurant want to honour this
tradition and memories in the modern era, by providing a space for locals and international guests to enjoy a family oriented restaurant that treasures its Creole culture through the dishes and drinks we make.
