Karak Construction

Karak Construction company information, Employees & Contact Information

Karak Construction is named in honour of the Karak. Karak got his distinctive red feathers when Ngolark (white-tailed Carnaby cockatoo) was struck along his tail and covered in red sap while protecting his friend. Ngolark cried in pain until the only sound he could make was the strained ‘karak’ sound he makes today, and became Karak, the red-tailed black cockatoo. The Karak holds deep cultural significance, with its feathers used in ceremony as well as being a common totem amongst Noongar peoples, including the past matriarchs of our owner’s Moort (family). Karak Construction is Supply Nation Registered and listed on the Aboriginal Business Directory of Western Australia along with being member of other Indigenous and Industry groups. The management team of Karak share an eagerness to use their extensive experience in the construction industry to create opportunities through the mentorship, education, training, and employment for all First Nations people of Australia. Karak aims to create genuine long-term economic partnerships with our clients and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
