About The Kashmir Journal
Kashmir Journal for Peace, Rights & Development is a research and advocacy project founded in 2019, dedicated to resolving one of the most complex and longstanding unresolved issues on the UN Security Council agenda—the Kashmir crisis. Our initiative aims to promote peace, human rights, sustainable development, and climate resilience through rigorous research, diplomatic initiatives, and community-based advocacy. Established under the framework of a Section 8 non-profit company, Border Peace Forum (BPF), our work addresses a wide range of critical issues in the region, particularly the ongoing Kashmir dispute, regional instability, socio-economic challenges, and the growing impact of climate change on vulnerable communities across South Asia. Our mission is to foster dialogue, create awareness, and support peaceful solutions, with a strong emphasis on human rights, justice, development, and environmental sustainability. At Kashmir Journal, we focus on: • Research & Documentation: Conducting in-depth research on the Kashmir conflict, regional issues, and the socio-economic and environmental impacts of the crisis. Our findings inform advocacy, policy-making, and peacebuilding efforts. • Peacebuilding Training: Offering training programs based on our Integral Peace Leadership Model to empower individuals and organizations in conflict resolution, peace-building, and leadership for social change. • Human Rights Diplomacy & Advocacy: Advancing the Right to Development and advocating for the protection of minority rights. We engage with local, regional, and international actors to promote human rights frameworks and policies that support sustainable peace. •Sustainable Development: Addressing poverty, inequality, and underdevelopment while integrating climate action and sustainability into peacebuilding strategies. We advocate for policies linking peace efforts with climate resilience and equitable development.
