Since its foundation (1989), the Department of Robotics has been focused on the issue of robotics at all levels of education, in science and research and in professional practice. In accordance with the
current trends, the department staffs and PhD students develop the topics of service robotics and robotics and the application of robots outside of engineering. This is reflected in research, teaching and publishing. In this respect, grants, contract research and topics of diploma and doctoral theses are based on research. The department provides several fields of study - Robotics, as part of the bachelor's
study program in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently also in the follow-up master's program in the study program Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The department also guarantees the doctoral program of the same name Robotics and the bachelor study program Mechatronics.
