The name Kaul Associates is dedicated to the memory of Prof Sajid Usman Kaul, the founder of this organisation and one of the pioneers of anaesthesia in the country.
He always endeavoured to improve the practice of anaesthesiology in Lahore. Some of
the initiatives introduced to the practice of anaesthesiology in Lahore under his guidance
include
* Formation of anaesthesia group that provided peroperative, intraoperative and postoperative care in private healthcare facility
* Complete obstetric pain relief service
* Pain clinic under the leadership of Prof Khalid Bashir
Prof Kaul is no longer among us but his legacy continues; the organisation he formed continues to serve the patients and cause of education in anaesthesiology.
Kaul Associates manage the department of Anaesthesia in the following hospitals
• Hameed Latif Hospital Lahore (HLH), affiliated with Rashid Latif Medical College. Residents from Kaul Associates are sent for external rotation to Arif Memorial Hospital, also affiliated with RLMC.
• National Hospital & Medical Centre Lahore
• Doctors Hospital & Medical Centre Lahore
We consider ourselves an integral part of these institutions and our team members join the staff from other departments in providing a safe, and comfortable environment for management of the patients. All the rules governing the respective hospitals apply to members of the department of anaesthesia while working there. All members of Kaul Associate staff are expected to abide by the administrative rules and regulations of the hospital in which they are working.
An essential component of our mission is to train anaesthesiologist of the future.
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan has recognised the department for FCPS Anaesthesiology. This training is embedded in our everyday work in such a way that every patient you manage becomes a learning experience that helps you become a more skilled anaesthesiologist.
