Kawari Wholesaler and Distributor, a division of Medipost Holdings, is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in Midrand and Cape Town. This leadership role in the pharmaceutical environment involves steering procurement operations for a major wholesaler, distributor and community pharmacy. Think you have what it takes? Keep reading… Role responsibilities ✅ Ensure compliance with SOPs, Good Warehousing and Distribution Practices and relevant quality and safety standards. ✅ Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, including the procurement supervisor and clerks ✅ Utilise historical sales data and forecasting tools to plan and procure stock cost-effectively, ensuring optimal stock levels that meet customer demands. ✅ Manage supplier verification, maintain up-to-date out-of-stock reports and closely monitor order cycles to minimise back orders and stock rejections. ✅ Coordinate closely with internal departments, addressing queries and facilitating smooth operational communication. ✅ Oversee staff productivity, training, and development while handling HR and employee relations matters as needed. Key competencies · A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Business Management, or Supply Chain Management, with 2 to 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement. · Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, coupled with strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills, are essential.
