KBW Promotions LLC is a family owned business that was formed to help boxers, and to put on exciting boxing events. Ken Weckstein brings to the company over 40 years of experience in law and a sports background (including driving harness horses). He is joined by daughter Hilary, a General Counsel for a technology company; son-in law Nate Morello, a Lieutenant Commander in the Coast Guard with a Masters' Degree from Johns Hopkins; and daughter Alison, who has a Masters' Degree in Special Education. Promotion of boxing is a complex undertaking that involves getting licenses, arranging for the boxers and paying them purses, contracting for the venue and sometimes the boxing ring, obtaining insurance, designing and printing posters and flyers, contracting for security, arranging for medical personnel and an ambulance, transporting boxers from around the country to the weigh-in and the fights, printing tickets, selling tickets on-line, hiring ring card girls, buying gloves for the boxers, getting a DJ, dealing with state regulators and laws, and many other details, down to auditioning a singer to sing the National Anthem and outsmarting people who try to sneak into the show. Our first show is the Rumble at Rosecroft, and will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Rosecroft Raceway in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Rosecroft is a small venue. It just seats 936 people and every seat has a good view. Our present line-up calls for eight bouts with some very well-known boxers, including Dusty Hernandez Harrison, who is undefeated in 32 fights with 17 knock-outs. Dusty has fought in Madison Square Garden and used to be promoted by Jay-Z, through his sports company Roc Nation. Our card also will include promising heavyweight Mike Balogun. Mike is a former NFL player. He is undefeated in 12 fights with nine knock-outs.
