Our mission is to provide a quality project that is completed on time and exceeds expectations. Kelsey Construction was founded by Gobel Newsome, Jr. in 1998. Gobel financed the start up of the business by cashing in his 401(k) to purchase a truck and a piece of equipment. In 1999, K&M Blasting, a sister company specializing in blasting services, was established. In 2008, we added highway work and large commercial projects to our services, with a concrete division following in 2010. From humble beginnings in 1998 with a focus solely on utility jobs, Kelsey has steadily grown into a multimillion dollar civil contractor with 75 employees, a large fleet of heavy equipment, and state-of-the-art GPS laser grade control technology. Kelsey performs industrial, commercial, and public interest projects. A loyal employee base, a commitment to efficiency at all levels, combined with an entrepreneurial grit that’s engrained in the Company culture are hallmarks of Kelsey’s success.
