Kern Citizens for Energy

Kern Citizens for Energy is an organization dedicated to supporting the thousands of men and women who work in the energy industry here in Kern County. Our coalition of small business owners, nonprofits, chambers of commerce, taxpayer advocates, energy companies, local elected officials and residents supports a robust and diverse energy industry in Kern County. Kern Citizens for Energy is dedicated to gathering support for local energy production in order to provide local jobs, reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil and increase revenues for Kern County schools, roads and public safety. The County recently approved and certified an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) specifically on oil and gas activities in Kern County. This resulted in a new permitting structure that ensures unprecedented additional environmental safeguards and community benefits for the people of Kern County. We support the Board of Supervisor’s decision and look forward to continued oil & gas production in Kern for decades to come.
