Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the firm was founded in 1990 and is made up of a team of 5 landscape architects with a combined experience of over 75 years. Kestrel is proud to be a major contributor to North American sustainable landscape design firms, with a portfolio of hundreds of projects for municipalities, park districts, watershed districts, schools, corporations, wholesaler/retailers, energy utilities and manufacturers. The firm has also worked successfully with all levels of government – local, regional, provincial and national. Our Name The Kestrel Design Group is proud to take our name from the American Kestrel, a falcon whose collaborative approach, efficiency and adaptability to humans and habitats signifies our approach to design solution.
