Key-Log Economics exists to help non-governmental organizations, public agencies, and other clients who are who are seeking to move the “key-log…to release the evolutional process for [a land] ethic (Aldo Leopold).” We do this by bringing appropriate economic information to bear on land use, ecosystem management and community development decisions.
Our three core services are:
1. Research: supplying rigorously developed ecological-economic information to shape and advance policy campaigns, as part of expert testimony, and for public education efforts.
2. Program development: creating and delivering pilot programs to help clients demonstrate and prepare to take full advantage of positive relationships between human and natural communities through such strategies as certification and labeling programs, payments for ecosystem services and nature-based marketing partnerships.
3. Organizational development: designing and delivering simple, low-cost-but-high-impact strategic planning with (not for) current and would-be learning organizations.
