The mission of the organization is to support the diversification of the student body and increase diversity programming at Kenan-Flagler Business School (KFBS). We will focus specifically on the development and success of students who identify as African, African-American, and members of the African Diaspora by providing resources to foster a successful experience at KFBS, from recruitment, to matriculation, and through graduation. Our goal is to promote professional and leadership development, academic excellence, social activism, and community involvement.
As the organization was founded with the intention of being purpose-driven, the BBSA’s 5 Purposes are:
1. Build a strong community among students of the African diaspora at Kenan-Flagler.
2. Support current Black students at Kenan-Flagler.
3. Support and recruit potential Black students interested in Kenan-Flagler.
4. Connect with Black alumni from Kenan-Flagler.
5. Engage with the larger Kenan-Flagler and UNC communities.
