Khana

Founded in 2018 in Detroit, Khana is a Pakistani-inspired food pop up. Drawing influence from both the traditional home cooked Pakistani meals eaten at home and the melting pot of culinary cuisine found in Detroit, chef & owner Maryam Khan creates dishes that are indicative of a multicultural upbringing. Fan favorites such as the Butter Chicken Nachos, Channa Masala Tacos, Shrimp Masala Sliders, Spicy Girl Grilled Cheese (the list goes on) all celebrate her upbringing as a first-generation Pakistani American. The food is considerably non-traditional, but nostalgic with unmistakably classic South Asian flavors enveloped in well balanced, creative dishes. Khana focuses on accessibility and inclusivity with the menu by maintaining vegan and allergen-friendly options that are not just an afterthought, and using 100% Halal meat 100% of the time. The mission at Khana is to bridge gaps through the love language of food while building a proverbial table where everyone feels comfortable taking a seat.
