Kho Health

Kho is a mobile-first platform that connects injured athletes with local health care providers. Athletes can ask any injury or mental health question and easily get insight into the next step they should take. Sports medicine providers like chiropractors, massage therapists, athletic trainers, and physical therapists use Kho as a marketing tool to allow them to find injured athletes close to their office. Kho was founded by Olympic sprinter Ian Warner out of frustration from his own injuries during his career. He suffered a fractured, hip, back, leg, pulled groin, and multiple pulled hamstrings. Was not able to get connected with the right people and wasted a lot of time frustrated and not able to compete in the sport he loved. He then developed a passion for finding injury solutions. Once he retired from track and field, he started an Instagram account where he shared knowledge to help athletes stay healthy. It took less than a year for the account to grow to over 20k followers, but even more impressive was the fact that it was sent over 1500 injuries questions via direct message. It was all of the direct messages that Ian received that encouraged him to start Kho. In sports tech, there are a lot of areas being addresses and talked about like eSports, wearables, big data, augmented reality but they all forget one core issue. If athletes are injured, they can’t compete, and NOTHING is more frustrating then being hurt.
