Kidneyhood.org was started by a kidney patient out of frustration. Diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease in 1998, Lee Hull’s frustration stemmed from his problems trying to find a cure for his disease for over a decade, which spurred him to start Kidneyhood.org and address problems faced by patients with kidney diseases. These problems include: Limited or no access to medical foods, supplements, treatments and diets that may stop or slow the progression of kidney disease. The lack of a standard treatment plan or diet if drugs fail, and no consensus on the best way to slow or stop kidney disease progression. No education for patients on how to maximize the life of their remaining kidney function and what options they may have.
