Kilimanjaro SAR Limited was a trusted and reliable helicopter rescue service, specializing in high altitude, high risk, and complex rescue missions. Located in Moshi, Tanzania on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, our team successfully rescued over 100 patients, operating with a mission success rate of over 92%.
In addition to our helicopter rescue service, we operated the only high-altitude medicine clinic in Africa, providing specialized treatment for patients suffering from mountain sickness such as AMS, HAPE, and HACE. We had the strongest domestic network of partners in Tanzania for fixed-wing medevac, ground ambulances, and bedside consultations.
Our vision was to make Kilimanjaro the safest tourist destination in Africa while also serving other national parks across Tanzania. However, like many businesses around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on our operations, and we were unable to continue providing our services.
While the closure of Kilimanjaro SAR Limited is unfortunate, I am proud of the work that we accomplished in our time in operation. Our commitment to unparalleled service and safety for all those who visited Tanzania's beautiful landscapes will continue to inspire us in future endeavors.
