KIM MEREDEW (STONE STUDIO) LTD.

My name is Kim and I am an English heritage trained stone carver. On completing my training I won a commission from Lady Perry to carve the figure of 'Christ in Ascension' over the main door of Southwark Cathedral. Since finishing my training I have worked for most of the main stone companies gaining a reputation for managing and executing difficult jobs. I have continually increased my skill levels. I won the 'Fakes' completion at Raw Gallery with a copy of the stone Modigliani 'Head' at Tate Britain. I have had work shown at the Royal Academy Summer Show and a Piece of my work was runner up in the public vote in the Thread Needle prize. I have worked on many listed and period building and since 2005 I have made many fine art carvings for internationally recognised artists. This work has taken me abroad on a number of occasions including San Francisco and the Ukraine. I recently finished a large marble work for an artist which has been installed on Dean Street at the junction with Oxford Street opposite the new Cross Rail station. I have a number of projects on at the moment, but always welcome a challenge.
