King’s For Change strives to create meaningful change through the cycle of community organising. By focusing on thoughtful grassroots action, utilising the relational power of 1-2-1’s and active listening, we empower students to make a difference in their community.
We are currently organising a mental health campaign to improve the wellbeing of the King’s community. We have recognised that the King’s mental health system is inadequate, and in order to change this, we are engaging with a number of community organising methods. For example, we’ve listened to over 100 King’s students so far and have been in conversations with decision-makers (senior members of staff) at the university.
King’s For Change aims to provide a vital space for our community of changemakers to start their own campaigns and recharge current campaigns, alongside participating in Citizens U.K. community organising training.
This year, we want you to join King’s For Change to listen to more students about their experience, mobilise the King’s student body and engage with senior members of staff to make real change within and beyond university. We also have fun socials planned for this year, so come along and join our group of changemakers!
