The King's Maudsley Partnership for Children and Young People, based at the Pears Maudsley Centre, will transform mental health care for children and young people. Through a unique collaboration between specialist clinicians from the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust and King’s College London’s leading academics, which will significantly speed up the time taken to create innovations and find breakthroughs that will enable us to help more patients at a time when need has never been greater.
Young patients and their families, as well as researchers and clinicians, have been involved in designing the Pears Maudsley Centre from the start.
It will provide treatment to young people with a range of conditions, from eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder, to anxiety, ADHD, autism and trauma.
The building will also be home to;
• The Snowfields unit, the inpatient ward for young people
• The ‘outstanding’ Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School
• CAMHS National and Specialist services
• New commissioned artwork across the building – chosen by young people with lived experience
