At Kinjugo we make digital English language learning games for classroom use in English language academies. We focus on language items which are difficult to teach traditionally at scale, such as phrasal verbs, and which have a high impact on test performance. We believe that the English language academy sector lacks access to great digital games, and that well-designed games motivate and engage learners. As learning via games is a growing trend in primary and secondary schools, we want this opportunity for ELT teachers too. Our first product, IELTS Preposition Safecracker, employs gaming strategies to activate the kinaesthetic, auditory, visual and reading/writing learning styles. The target language is phrasal verbs, and the game uses a safe-cracking conceit. It contains 450 sentences based across five IELTS topics and 30 CEFR-aligned grammar points. The review feature marks student answers, provides synonyms and audio recordings for each sentence. This feature and many others can be explored by installing the game from www.kinjugo.com.
