KitNewCare is a pioneering EU co-funded project transforming kidney healthcare into a sustainable, climate-neutral model. Recognising healthcare's role in global carbon emissions (5-11%), the project focuses on kidney care, an area with significant disease burden and resource footprint, as a model for systemic sustainability change.
Beyond traditional approaches, KitNewCare targets the broader environmental impacts of healthcare products, services and pathways. The project employs a systematic approach to pilot and benchmark interventions, assessing their effectiveness in reducing environmental impact while maintaining high patient care standards, and also improving patient outcomes.
