Maurice a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years, a proud father concurrently a high-functioning alcoholic, became aware of how unhappy he was in life and through a lot of hard work and positive changes is now sober for 3 years. After selling his 6 figure company has found his why in life and together with Ursula have created Know Limits. Ursula was using alcohol as a crutch in her life during a very difficult period, having moved countries, a mum to 4, working full time, realised something was going to give. A nearly devastating decision made under the influence of alcohol was a turning point in her life. Together with Maurice has made a lot of positive changes in her life and is now 3 years sober. Know Limits was born out of the empathetic natures of both Maurice and Ursula who after realising alcohol played a negative role in their lives, felt challenged by society for making a choice to no longer consume alcohol. “The people around us wanted us back - they wanted us to still be ‘the party people’. Their allies in alcohol binge night outs. It took a lot of courage and conviction to stand by our decision. It was only for the positive changes they saw in their own lives that kept them motivated, despite the external ridicule, stigma and pressure. "We lost weight, felt healthier than we’d ever done, gained mental clarity, no more hangovers, and we were so much happier.” Through educational workshops and awareness, we want to help remove the stigma for those who choose to be sober curious and to introduce to you the growing market of alcohol alternatives. We also supply venues, the hospitality sector and sector-wide industry with non-alcoholic products. Our company supports hospitality, industry and event management companies to offer a non alcoholic range to their staff and guests to be more inclusive.
