Knowhow Wilhelms GmbH was founded in 2013 by Dipl. Ing. Frank Wilhelms. From a consulting firm, we quickly developed into a small company that offers all services in the field of reworking and repair of castings. Besides manual reworking, the laser welding process proved to be a very gentle method for the repair of castings. The punctual energy supply with the laser, allows a very fine and precise processing. We not only repair individual castings and vintage car parts, but also parts from the automotive industry that are produced in series. We have several supplier numbers and are therefore listed with large companies such as Daimler, BMW or even Volkswagen. In 2018 a new topic was developed: 3D metal printing. When you think of 3D metal printing, do you think of small components and long waiting times? Not with us! We can recommend a different method to you: in contrast to the usual 3D metal printing using the SLM method, we use a proven and mature arc welding process. This enables us to produce near-contour blanks from CAD data, which can then be finished by our mechanical production. We can produce prototypes, single pieces and small series quickly and cost-effectively. At the end of 2019 our company was awarded the Brandenburg Innovation Prize! We are very proud of this. In the future we would like to gain a foothold in the railway industry in addition to the automotive industry. For this purpose we have been certified according to DIN EN 15085 - 2 in 2019. This certification is decisive for companies that weld on rail vehicle parts and components. At the beginning of 2020 we successfully passed the recertification and we are looking forward to working in this industry also in the future. Do you have sample parts or special requirements?
