The Knox County High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) consists of both law enforcement and legal personnel. Its service area includes 13 counties located in Southwest Indiana. Members of the HTCU conduct proactive and reactive investigations in which computers/mobile devices, digital equipment, or other advanced technology is used to facilitate a criminal act or are pertinent to a criminal investigation. The Knox County HTCU partners with Vincennes University's College of Business and Public Safety to provide students, in various fields of study, with hands-on experience in research, and digital forensics training.
