Japan has been an extremely important market for Korean creative content ever since the introduction of the Korean drama “Winter Sonata” in 2003. Since that first hit, a variety of creative content in K-pop, gaming, comics, and animation have entered the Japan market at a rapid pace. Japan is a country of various cultures, but with the strong flow of its own indigenous creative content, it has not been easy for foreign companies to break through into the market. However, through narrow windows of opportunities, Korean creative content has continuously entered the Japanese market and is much adored by Japanese audiences. We believe that this is partly due to the continuous support of all content suppliers and stakeholders in Japan.
