After many years abroad in high level public service, Sulev Nõmmann, PhD, CEO/Business Strategy, established an apple orchard in Southern Estonia in 2006. The primary objective was to link his family life back with Estonia. The long-term vision was to launch a food and beverage company based on self-grown goods. In 2011 Kodas was founded. There is a long tradition of growing apples in Estonia – and the climate of Southern Estonia has allowed our orchards of specially selected varieties to flourish. But without a long history of domestic cider making to limit us, we were free to bring an innovative eye to a traditional craft. Our goal with cider has always been to embrace the true nature of the apples we grow. Therefore we use only the best Nordic apples to get the purest taste of cider. Unlike the industry standard, we do not dilute our apple juice at any point in the production process. Science has always been an integral part of Kodas. This has led to our extensive knowledge of apple varieties, yeasts and production methods with which we’ve created some truly unique and award-winning products. It has also enabled us to develop a 0% waste production cycle. In addition to the constant development of our products and production methods, we are committed to continuously improving our management system. Therefore, we have acquired the ISO 9001 certificate.
