In 2018, Kognitus was founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to facilitate the adoption of AI technologies and accelerate their insertion into the mainstream of subsurface workflows in the O&G, Energy, and Mining industries.

NAUTILUS®: a cloud-native AI platform that helps geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers quickly analyze and interpret large-volume subsurface datasets using the latest cloud computing technology and Machine Learning techniques. With NAUTILUS®, geoscientists can easily prepare subsurface data, select features, build and deploy ML models, automate workflows, and incorporate AI into their subsurface modeling workflows without coding.
ALTERNA®: a ML platform for uncertainty and risk assessment in numerical physics-based simulations. The 'Petroleum Systems' module comprises connectors to state-of-the-art simulators (Petromod and TemisFlow) to provide systematic quantification of input uncertainties, full sensitivity analysis, and robust regional risk assessment. The 'Reservoir Simulation' module aims to build a digital twin of geological reservoirs for petroleum and geothermal production, and CO2 and natural gas storage.
