Koh-Ed

Koh-Ed was founded by Anna Koh and Alice Decugis in January 2019. In order to share and teach the active education that we are privileged to have access to at École Jeannine Manuel, a few students started teaching English to youth at an education center called Foyer de Grenelle. At this center, local French community members come to learn various classes for free or at a very low cost. From there on, Koh-Ed partnered with a school club called YES! (Young Enthusiastic Scientists!), a club that trains high school students to develop science experiments and lesson plans to teach in collège science classrooms. Due to this partnership, Koh-Ed created an international project called the 2019 Koh-Ed Ghana Initiative. This was the start of Koh-Ed, and currently, it is in the works of expanding to teaching more classes, opening other Koh-Ed branches in different schools, and working to become more autonomous. Koh-Ed was officially certified as a Junior association (a non-profit organization) in November. At Koh-Ed, we believe that an active and quality education is instrumental in cultivating growth in our youth. Through hands-on science and English education, our goal is to prepare today’s generation to become key members in the development of our societies and equip them to overcome social and economic obstacles. We aim to inspire youth in particular, allowing our actions to create a chain reaction of positive impact throughout the world, ultimately fostering large and influential change and growth.
